“How long, Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, ‘Violence!’ but you do not save? Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrongdoing?” Habakkuk 1:2-3 NIVUK
The questions of the prophet Habakkuk in the Old Testament seem bang up to date as we see events unfolding on our planet right now! In lament he cries out to God, it looks and feels like God isn’t listening or doing anything, but Habakkuk climbs to his watchtower anyway to wait and to listen for how God will answer. His attention is towards God and what starts as questions and confusion ends with a song of praise and trust in the One who is just and who will bring deliverance! “Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.” Habakkuk 3:2 NIVUK Amen 🙏🏼
