During this trip, the group came across a young pastor by the name of Charles Mithowa. Charles was, at that time, pasturing a small church of 20 people that met in his house, and was part of a group of people travelling with the team to Dedze. We recognised that God had something special in mind for Charles, and kept in touch with him after the end of the trip. Shortly after this, Charles felt God’s calling to launch a Kingfisher church in Malawi – a church that has now grown to seven churches with further churches in Zambia and Mozambique.
In 2008, a team of 8 people visited the growing ministry and were part of the first graduation ceremony at the new college in Mulanje – a wonderful occasion where 24 people graduated and were commissioned to go and plant new churches. As you can see from the video of the 2008 trip on the media page, Kingfisher church is alive and growing in Malawi, reaching an increasing number of lost people with the life-changing message of the Gospel.
In 2010 a team went out on a mission to the church in Malawi.
