Launched in January 2018, Kingfisher Westgate is a church that seeks to reach out and bring the Gospel to people who are far from God, who are struggling in their lives, with mental health issues, with addictions and with other, related issues. Everyone is welcome at Kingfisher Westgate, and we have had the joy of seeing the church more than double in size, from the original team of 18 people, as it attracts many who would never normally fit into or feel at home in a local church. The church meets in a Victorian-style tea room called Chuckaboos, which is located at 52, Westgate Street, Gloucester, GL1 2NF.
Traditional ‘sermons’ are replaced by more interactive times of people questioning issues of faith and the music is contemporary and guitar-led, with a mixture of new songs and traditional hymns. The service lasts for an hour, starting at 11am each Sunday morning, and bacon rolls, coffee and tea are served from 10.45am.
As one young person said recently as she wandered into church, still drunk from the night before: ‘I don’t go to church and I didn’t even know that this was a church, but my life is a complete mess and I need Jesus’.
Yes she does, and Kingfisher Westgate is just the place to come and find Him!

What should I wear?
Our church has a “come as you are” atmosphere. You will see some dressed up; some dressed casual. We have no expectations for attire.
1) Come to a worship service on the weekend.
2) Look into joining a Connect Group, and get to know some great people.
3) Come join us in any of our social activities throughout the year!
4) Find an opportunity to serve, here, near or far.
